Your visit to the GI-OPD starts at the Records station, where you'll hand over your appointment card.
A nurse or records officer will confirm your details and open your chart
Then, you'll proceed to get your weight checked before taking a seat in the waiting area
Typically, there are around 30 patients per appointment slot, so you can expect to be seen within an hour, though during busy times, it may take a bit longer, especially for specialized slots with up to 80 patients
We prioritize patients based on arrival time, except in cases where charts are missing or we're awaiting important investigations. Thanks to digitalization, we can often see patients even without their charts and have most investigations ready before their visits, making the process smoother for everyone.
Consultation
When it's your turn to see the doctor, they'll take the time to listen to your symptoms and concerns attentively. Don't hesitate to share any additional medical conditions or medications you're currently taking, as these details can provide valuable insights into your overall health. Bringing along your current medications ensures accuracy in your treatment plan.
Once the doctor has a comprehensive understanding of your situation, they'll recommend the most suitable course of action, which may involve further diagnostic tests such as blood work or endoscopic procedures. If you're returning for a follow-up appointment, rest assured that all your previous test results will be readily available for review.
Our team of dedicated doctors has undergone extensive training and is committed to providing you with the highest standard of care. Your comfort, well-being, and health outcomes are always our primary concerns.
Treatment Room
Following your consultation with the doctor, you may need to undergo either blood tests or endoscopic investigations. Our nurses will guide you through the process, starting with blood collection right here in our OPD, making it convenient and efficient for you. This ensures that your test results are readily available for your review, minimizing the need for additional appointments.
If you're scheduled for an endoscopy, we provide easy-to-understand instructions in a cartoon-based leaflet, and our nurses will explain the procedure in detail. Sometimes, you might need to return a few days before your appointment to take your colonic purgative. We'll also go over your prescribed medications with you, addressing any questions or concerns you may have.
Before you leave, we'll schedule your follow-up appointment, ensuring continuity of care and support throughout your journey with us. Your comfort and understanding are our top priorities.
